French toast recipes: classic, without egg and without milk

Remember French toast from Grandma's kitchen? Bread with egg, vanilla sugar, cinnamon and milk. Just bake and enjoy 😋 But you can also make delicious French toast without egg or milk for a delicious breakfast, lunch or brunch!

Classic French toast

Required:
• 1 medium egg
• 2 bags of vanilla sugar
• 1 tsp ground cinnamon
• 250 ml semi-skimmed milk
• 8 slices of white casino bread
• 40 g unsalted butter

This is how you make them:
1. Beat the egg, vanilla sugar, cinnamon and milk in a deep plate.
2. Cut the crusts off the bread. Dip the slices of bread 1 by 1 in the egg mixture and stack them on a plate. Pour the rest of the egg mixture over the bread stack. Let withdraw.
3. Heat half the butter in a large frying pan and fry half the French toast in about 2 minutes per side until golden brown. Turn halfway. Remove them from the pan, heat the rest of the butter and fry the rest of the French toast until golden brown.

French toast without egg

Required:
• 2 tbsp granulated sugar
• 1 tsp ground cinnamon
• 1 tbsp cornstarch
• 250 ml semi-skimmed milk
• 8 slices of white casino bread
• 40 g unsalted butter

This is how you make them:
1. Beat the sugar, cinnamon, cornstarch and milk in a deep plate. Cut the crusts off the bread. Dip the slices of bread in the milk mixture.
2. Heat half the butter in a large frying pan and fry half the French toast for about 2 minutes per side until golden brown. Turn halfway. Remove them from the pan, heat the rest of the butter and fry the rest of the French toast until golden brown

French toast without milk

Required:
• 2 tbsp granulated sugar
• 1 tsp ground cinnamon
• 2 medium eggs
• 100 ml of water
• 8 slices of white casino bread
• 40 g unsalted vegetable margarine

This is how you make them:
1. Beat the sugar, cinnamon, eggs and water in a deep plate. Cut the crusts off the bread. Dip the slices of bread in the egg mixture.
2. Heat half the butter in a large frying pan and fry half the French toast for about 2 minutes per side until golden brown. Turn halfway. Remove them from the pan, heat the rest of the butter and fry the rest of the French toast until golden brown

Serving tips:

• Sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon
• Garnish with fresh fruit
• Delicious with a dollop of whipped cream
• Spread a spoonful of jam on the French toast
• Drizzle with honey or syrup
